Return of Samer Dao Mountain Trail #2: "Running Under the Stars, Restoring the Forest"

Experience the thrill of trail running amidst nature, dashing through the mist on challenging paths.

The National Parks Association, in collaboration with Sri Nan National Park and the Nan Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports, invites trail runners from all over the country to run under the stars and restore the forest, navigating through the mist with five new distances at the Samer Dao Mountain Trail #2 event. This will take place at Doi Samer Dao, Sri Nan National Park, Nan Province, on November 23-24, 2024.

Objectives:

1. To promote and enhance the tourism attractions in Sri Nan National Park and Nanoi District.
2. To stimulate the economy and generate income from sports tourism in Southern Nan.
3. To raise funds for the National Parks Association to carry out the Forest Restoration Project.
4. To foster community involvement in the conservation of natural resources and the environment at the community, district, provincial, and national levels.
5. To promote health through regular exercise.

Every 100 baht from your registration fee will be donated to the National Parks Association to support conservation efforts and the Forest Restoration Project.

Stargazing Camp Activity: Star Photography Techniques and Photo Contest Tents with bedding will be provided. Enjoy a delicious dinner and have fun with stargazing activities guided by the National Astronomical Research Institute, which will show you important constellations (limited availability).

• Trail 12 KM: Running shirt, commemorative medal, race bib, timing chip
• Trail 6 KM: Running shirt, commemorative medal, race bib, timing chip
• VIP (4,000 THB, any distance): Running shirt, polo shirt, commemorative medal, Goodie Bag, race bib, timing chip, plus a special package including a stargazing camp with dinner and parking for one person
• Register but not run (2,000 THB, any distance): Receive a running shirt, polo shirt, and a 360 ml Zojirushi thermal bottle with wildlife design, with free shipping
• Register but not run (500 THB, any distance): Receive one running shirt, and the organizers will donate another running shirt to Sri Nan National Park officials with free shipping

Rules and Regulations

• Participants in the long-distance categories (60 km, 40 km, and 21 km and above) must wear a hydration pack with mandatory gear. If a participant is found without a hydration pack, they will be asked to stop running until they can obtain one.

• Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification from the competition.

• Stimulant drugs are not permitted during the competition. If found using, the participant will be immediately disqualified.

• Participants must acknowledge and understand all these rules and regulations.

• For safety reasons, if a runner decides to withdraw from the competition while on the route, they must call the central team using the organizer’s emergency contact number to report their withdrawal location and personal information.

• Runners must wear their own race bib and register their correct personal information in the organizer’s registration system to maintain competition rights and accident insurance coverage. In case of selling or exchanging race bibs, the seller must notify the organizer in writing of the new details within 7 business days before the competition. If a runner neglects to notify the organizer of the sale or exchange of a race bib, the organizer reserves the right to deny competition rights and accident insurance coverage due to invalid personal information.

• Participants must be in good health, free from any conditions that could pose a risk during prolonged walking or running, and must be prepared to follow all the stated regulations.

Guidelines

1. Runners must follow the routes marked by ribbons or signs from the officials only. Do not deviate from the designated path.

2. Runners must strictly follow the instructions given by the field officials. This event follows a Zero Waste policy, so runners must bring their own water containers.

3. Do not litter along the running route except at designated service points.

4. Do not engage in any activities that could cause damage or endanger fellow runners participating in the event.

5. Runners are strictly prohibited from damaging or collecting any plants, vegetables, or fruits along the route.

• A photocopy of the participant’s Citizen ID Card/Passport
