The Antarctic Ice Marathon is run over the classic 42.195km (26.2 miles) marathon distance. The race encompasses an individual competiton, with male and female divisions. There is also an option to run a half marathon, the Frozen Continent Half Marathon, which commences at the same time as the marathon.
Entry Fee for 2018
For the entry fee of EUR 16,000 (EUR 15,000 if paying in full upon registraton), Global Running Adventures will provide
Entry to your race of choice
Transfers to and from Punta Arenas airport, Chile for Antarctic flight
Briefing in Punta Arenas one day prior to departure
Round trip flights from Punta Arenas to Antarctica
Meals and tented accommodation while in Antarctica
A Baggage allowance of up to 55lbs (25kg) on Punta Arenas-Union Glacier flight
Medal, t-shirts, patches and other souvenirs of the race
Professional photos for personal use (and local publication)
A short film of the event for download (personal use)
Medical
All participants should be in excellent health and capable of easily completing the race of their choice. Please consult with your doctor before entering the 2018 Antarctic Ice Marathon. It is mandatory to have emergency medical evacuation insurance for Antarctica, which can be obtained for less than €100 - registered competitors will be advised on the simplest means of obtaining this insurance.
Payment Schedule
Antarctic Ice Marathon / Half Marathon (Scheduled Race Date is 13 December 2018)
Full payment of EUR €15,000 to firmly secure place will be accepted on initial registration.* Alternatively, a EUR €5,000 deposit to reserve a place will be accepted. This deposit should be followed by an additional installment payment of EUR €5,000 payable by 31st August 2017. The remaining €6,000 necessary for full payment should be received by 31st March 2018.
*This includes a €1,000 discount for paying in full upon registration.
